When I was a small child, I never thought about religion and the way that it was a part of everything, as I grew I was reminded about the fact that God is everywhere. Allah is in the trees, in the wind, and in the rain. We hear his very presence when we walk outside or when we do anything. It is very easy to forget these things with all of the events of daily life as well as all of the items that happen with the demands of life.
I like to spend time in my lemon garden looking at the trees and remembering the role that Allah has in everything around us. I was told by my father that we have the capacity within ourselves to decide what is right and what is wrong. He told me that it was very important to remember that the ability to determine right and wrong could be impaired by someone if we were not careful. What that means for us is that for someone who is in a position of diseased ideas he or she will keep those ideas. It is good to be a Muslim because we have a perspective of peace that many others do not have.
We know that absolute truth comes from Allah and that he is the one source that you can get information from and continue to learn. That means that to an atheist this would not make sense as he would not understand that this is where the truth comes from and that all truth is not unlocked from him.
It is good to be a Muslim because we have a perspective that many men have forgotten, it used to be that there were many scientists who thought that they were looking to be able to prove the existence of God. What this meant was that philosophers used to look at items like a watch and see the way that all of the little pieces for together and how all was related. When it comes to understanding all of these little pieces, I know that all of these details are in his hands and that means that the world has a great option to learn from watching the natural processes around the world.
It is good to be a Muslim because we understand all the pieces as well as all of the details of the universe. There are many little pieces that work together to bring everything into function. This means that we need to understand all of the pieces of the universe to understand life. God is in all of the details and this promises us that we will be prepared for everything that we may need.
There is a way that the stars are meant to form and we may not understand that but this is the will of God. There are many stars that live out all of their lives so that we are able to have all of the chemical pieces. There are many stars that have traveled a long distance and that are together so that we have proper environment for life to exist. All of these pieces cannot be seen to come from an accident. All of these items are from the creator.
The Earth as well has to rotate at a certain way so that it is possible for one region to be hot and another that is not. Water is on the planet in the right ratios and there are many things that happen that are not understood that are a part of the basics of life. It is important to see that life will find a way to sustain itself even if we do not understand it at the moment. There is always enough reproduction, food, and water to ensure that all of the elements are ready.
When I put all of the pieces together, I see that it has to be there by the will of god for us to be here and that there is a great creator who has made the watch. The universe is the sign of God and God is a sign of the universe. These are put together in perfect harmony. God is here and we can see him in the creation, however sometimes he seems as though he is not present always in the way that we want which is very complicated.
I decided to seek truth for myself and then I decided that God did exist and that the prophet was sent by God. When I had concluded with all of my research I decided that I needed to become a Muslim. It is good to become a Muslim and good to be a Muslim because it is the path of truth and that means that you are able to know what the will of the creator is in many forms in your life and that God is in control.
I decided that I needed to also take on the traditional means of dress for a woman as well to ensure that I was going to fit in. It is good to be a Muslim because as a woman you do not have to worry about men looking at you in a way that is sexual when you are wearing the traditional dress. You are able to keep your face covered and know that your beauty is strictly for the eyes of your husband. It is good to be a Muslim because you are able to keep your respect as well as know that you are able to enjoy all of the benefits as well of knowing the truth. When you have taken the time as well to learn the value of your life you will love it and know that you have the truth.
There is a lot of bad information out there and it is very important to make sure that you are going to be informed and you will be aligned to understand all of the details when it comes to your needs as well as those of your world. You want to make sure that you are able to understand and know why it is good to be a Muslim and to know you are with the will of God.
Being a muslim has always been a source of joy and the sense of fulfillment that has lead to peace within. Being a muslim to me, is not about religion but my connection to Allah and the Islam journey I have to take before am reunited with him. I believe being a Muslim is not just religion but that connection to God. As a Muslim I strive to make my action an rewarding act of worship aimed to pleasing Allah. I have met many people from various religion but one thing remains unchanged is my love for Islam.
I believe am a disciplined person because of being a Muslim. My life is set out in a well timed out schedule around the Islamic laws. I obey the laws of Mohamed to the letter. Ever since I began attending Madarasa back when I was a child to now, discipline has been the order of the day. i wake up early in the morning to pray to Allah thanking Him for the gift of live and to help me have a good day and protect me from all the bad plans in the day to come. It takes discipline to wake up every morning and pray. To always live a life of prayer takes a great deal of discipline. Back when I was still a child I never understood why discipline was a key element I only followed because I knew it was the right thing to do but as I have grown and learnt many things in life I have appreciated the doctrine of discipline in Islam. My life if spaced around Salaa. I give thanks for meals and provisions throughout my day. I have discipline my life to do all that is required in worship to Allah and also have time for my business and family. I have come to learn it is easy to ignore one aspect of one’s life without discipline
Reading the Quran daily has been a wonderful experience in my life. Each time I read a passage I learn something different and remind myself of the things God desires from me. It seems to have a better revelation and perception of life every new day. It’s as if it is written a new in my life. The Quran has been my guide on what is expect of me and has greatly paved the way for me to understand what my purpose in this life is.
As a father it has been my duty to be a good husband to my wife and a father to my children. As a Muslim father I have an obligation to my family to make sure that they live in accordance to the Islamic laws. I spend most of my evening after a long day of work with my children. I get to learn how their day was and try to help them deal with the everyday’s issues In their lives. I help them in reading and understanding the Quran. My joy increases each day as I get to see my children grow up to be young people in the service for Allah. I love it most when my youngest daughter comes from her madarasa classes and runs to me to share what they learnt that day.
The Muslim religion is based on devotion to God and love for humanity. As a Muslim I have an obligation to care for my brothers and sisters in the world either related to me by blood or not. A few of my friends and I have taken the initiative to care for these of use that cannot care for this is called zakat(charity) among my people themselves especially the orphans and the widow in the community. It is against what I being in to have more than what I need and not share with those in want. I try to live a life emulating what Allah’s prophet; Mohammed lived by extending the hand of compassion to other people. It is through love that we get to give the more worship to God.
It is important to understand, my life as a Muslim is strived to a greater purpose in life. I believe in judgment of one’s life after this life is gone. God will judge and reward every person in accordance with their actions in their lives when they were alive. I did my pilgrimage to Mecca and will take my children as soon as they are able to comprehend what the holy journey is. The experience is nothing I would compare to. You would have to go there for you to understand what a life changing experience it is.
Prayer and fasting go hand in hand in a life of a Muslim. a good Muslim should find time to fast(sawm). This is why we have the month of Ramadan. Basically, to have time to read the Quran and also engage in a life of prayer is what fasting entails. This takes discipline and great faith to follow. Sawm is not an easy task but as a Muslim have come to learn the joy of fasting. It is in those moments when you let the teachings guide you through life. It and you get to reflect what you are not doing right and how to make your life well with Allah’s teachings and laws.
Many religion do not appreciate the sense of community among its believers.. Islam brings a sense of family brotherhood and togetherness. The celebration of the Muslim journey festivals like the Ramadan among others, reminds us of the obligation to the brotherhood. Having festivals as a community reminds us we are not alone but share many brothers and sisters through faith. It strengthen us knowing we are not the only ones going through the struggles of being a Muslim but we have a family to help us finish our journey and get greater rewards in the end.
I have seen and gone through life as a Muslim and I know it is good to be a Muslim.
